My little Photographer

My daughter who is 9 has an interest in photography. Her class did a photography project with camera’s. They will be in Julia’s Gallery. She asked me about my camera’s.”Are you not using one” she asked. As she is looking at my little point and shoot camera’s.

“Yes, you can use whichever,” I said.

Then she has my film camera. She asked if it needed batteries. I told her No. Explained how a manual film camera works. She found film and I showed her how to put the film into the camera.

I told her to save the film on photos that really matter. Not photos inside of her toys or the TV.

“I know. We took some at school,” she said.

“What kind of photos do you like to take?” I asked.

“I like to take close up’s of sea glass, or flowers, ” She said.

“Oh that is pretty cool! Fine Art is really fun to do. Maybe someday you will have your own gallery!” I said.

I explained the camera more. I told her if she really is wants to take photos, to go outside. Once the film is done I will make cards out of the best photo. I will use it for my studio. She was pretty excited.

This morning she woke up and got out the camera and went outside to take a few photos. She was very proud and told me what she took. I just can’t wait to see what her eye’s captured!

I will have to update this when she is done with the film and post a few of her photographs.

Funny, this is around the same age as I was when I took an interest in cameras. Begging my mom if I could use her camera. It is the same camera that Quincie is using.
